Open your workspace.
Use Sign in to access an existing account, or choose Sign Up to create one. If email confirmation is required, confirm the address before signing in. Forgotten-password recovery starts from the sign-in screen.
Open Getting started from Home or Settings to review your saved units, sets, rep range and workout split. Follow its links to prepare your workout, check recovery or export your records. The guide reads your existing settings; opening it does not change them or count as a completed session.
The app offers light, dark and system appearance. Theme choice can be saved on this browser. Account access needs a working network connection.
Record the session you actually did.
Choose a workout type, prepare its exercises and edit the weight and reps for each set. Saved workout variants let you reuse exercise lists. An unfinished workout is kept on the current device under the signed-in account.
Your exercises, sets and completion checkmarks save together on this device. A saved label confirms device storage; an error keeps unsaved edits visible, with retry, review and private backup controls. Older unfinished workouts require you to confirm their weight unit before continuing. The numbers are kept unchanged, and previously unsaved checkmarks cannot be recovered.
Finish Workout records every set shown; remove sets you did not perform. The details lock while account confirmation is pending. Retry Saving Workout uses the same session, timestamp and goals after a reload, without creating a duplicate or restoring a deleted history entry. After confirmation, choose Start another workout. Progression compares only previous workouts with the same recorded weight unit; older rows with unknown units are excluded. Workout backups preserve drafts and save requests, but are not importable restores or full account exports.
Completed history is associated with your account. A generated target is a starting point for editing, not a measurement of your readiness or exercise technique.
Cardio and calisthenics
These activity forms keep unfinished entries on the current device, including incomplete numbers while you type. A failed device save keeps your edits visible. If another tab changes the draft, export a backup if needed, then explicitly review the saved version.
Choose Save Cardio or Save Calisthenics to record the workout in your account. Its details lock while confirmation is pending. Retry workout save checks the same saved request, including after a reload; it does not create another workout or restore a history entry you deleted. Once confirmation appears, choose Log another workout to begin a new session.
Export activity backup preserves the original device draft, pending requests and current unsaved form. This private JSON file is for preservation and review; it is not an import file or a complete account export. Drafts are not synchronized between devices.
Review, correct, and keep your records.
Workout history includes strength, cardio and calisthenics. Filter by workout type or month, or load older sessions. The calendar and exercise trends describe the sessions currently loaded. Sessions are listed by recording time; their displayed date is when the workout took place.
Open a session to review its details or choose Correct session. Review the date, local time, exercises, sets, goals or activity details before saving. Strength weights retain their recorded unit. Older records with no unit are labeled clearly and require you to choose the original unit before a correction can be saved. Changing that label does not convert the numbers. Trends keep pounds and kilograms separate and exclude unknown units.
You can delete one session or select up to 200 reviewed sessions. A correction or deletion stops if the saved details have changed since you reviewed them. Use Review latest saved history before making a new selection. If a connection is interrupted, use Confirm saved history change: the saved request can be retried without applying the action again to newer records.
Unsaved corrections remain on the current screen. Export history backup preserves the loaded records, selected original, unsaved edits and any pending change. Keep this private file somewhere safe. It is a preservation copy, not a complete account export or an import file.
Keep a private copy of your account.
In Settings, choose Export account data, then Prepare account export. Download the private JSON file once it is ready. It contains a frozen copy of your cloud workouts, nutrition, daily records and account billing records, together with saved drafts and pending changes from this device. Downloads are checked for completeness before they are offered.
If the connection is interrupted, retry the export. The same prepared cloud snapshot remains available for 15 minutes, even when account records change during the download. Prepare a fresh export to replace it; allow one minute between new snapshots. Downloads support up to 64 MiB of cloud records. An oversized export fails visibly and never produces a partial file.
Download device recovery copy works separately from the cloud export and keeps original saved values, including records that cannot be read normally. Other devices, unsaved form edits, older unassigned data, login tokens and source records held by Apple Health or payment providers are excluded. Review older unassigned data separately in recovery. These private files preserve your data for review; they are not automatic restore files.
Keep downloaded files somewhere private. Prepared cloud downloads expire after 15 minutes; expired snapshots are removed on the next export request or when the account is deleted.
Delete your free account when you choose.
In Export account data, choose Delete account. Save an export first, review the account, acknowledge permanent deletion and type DELETE. A login from the last ten minutes is required; if asked, sign out and sign in again before returning to this screen.
Confirmed deletion removes your NextSet login and cloud workouts, nutrition, wellness and account records. It then clears only that account’s saved drafts and records on this device. Other accounts, older unassigned records, downloaded files and copies on other devices are separate. Provider-held health and payment records are not deleted by this workflow.
If your connection or device storage fails, keep this browser’s data and use Continue account deletion, or Resume account deletion on the sign-in screen. The saved request can finish after your login has been removed. A device-cleanup failure keeps a retry available without repeating cloud deletion. If the original device or saved request is unavailable, sign in again on another device and review a new deletion confirmation. An already-running deletion can finish while the new device checks its progress. Earlier saved requests can still receive completion and clear that account’s records on their own device. Completed retry receipts become eligible for removal after 30 days and are removed when another deletion request begins.
Accounts with billing cannot use this workflow yet. Paid-account deletion and payment lifecycle verification remain separate release gates. Purchases are disabled in the free preview.
The progression rule, explained.
NextSet uses the minimum reps, maximum reps and weight increment in your progression settings. The calculation operates independently for each exercise:
- If every recorded set is at or above the maximum reps, add the selected weight increment to each set and reset its reps to the minimum.
- Otherwise, keep each set’s weight and add one rep to sets below the maximum. Sets already at the maximum keep their reps.
An example using 8–12 reps and a 5 lb increment
| Recorded reps | Next calculated target |
|---|---|
| 10 / 12 / 11 | 80 lb · 11 / 12 / 12 reps |
| 12 / 12 / 12 | 85 lb · 8 / 8 / 8 reps |
Illustrative settings, not a recommended load or rep range. The calculation does not know your recovery, equipment or technique.
Review and edit calculated targets before using them. Changing your settings changes future calculations; the completed record remains a record of what you entered.
Keep daily inputs together.
Log food entries with calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat. The app adds the entered values and compares them with goals you set. Barcode lookup depends on the external food database and supported device/browser features; check the returned product and serving information.
Daily wellness entries include water, mood and steps. Weight logs record the amount, unit and date. Food totals and goal comparisons depend on the accuracy of your inputs and are not a personalized nutrition prescription.
Apple Health and camera workflows still need native-device acceptance. They are not required to use the manual web logs.
Know what is saved where.
Completed workouts and wellness records are stored with your signed-in account. Unfinished workouts, saved variants and some settings also use storage on the current device. Local data is scoped to the account, with guards against an operation continuing into a different login.
In Settings, choose Export account data to download a JSON copy of your cloud workout and wellness records together with saved records from this device. Save unfinished form edits first. Data held only on other devices, older unassigned records, login tokens and source records held by Apple Health or payment providers are excluded. The export is a data copy, not an automatic restore file.
Prepared cloud downloads have a 15-minute expiry window beginning when the snapshot is captured; preparing a new one replaces the previous snapshot. If a download expires, prepare it again. The export screen shows progress and errors instead of silently returning an incomplete file.
You can also delete a free account. Export anything you want to keep, sign in again when requested, and review the confirmation before deleting. The app can resume a pending deletion after an interruption. Accounts with billing require the payment lifecycle to be completed before this deletion flow is available.
Older unassigned browser data is preserved separately. In Sync & recovery, choose Recover older device records. Review this account’s older records, unassigned records on this device, or a legacy recovery file exported from that screen. Select up to 25 records or training groups, confirm that they belong to you, and confirm the destination account. Existing destination records and all source originals are kept.
Wellness edits are saved on this device before submission. A waiting label means account confirmation is still pending. Open Sync & recovery to retry; retries retain the original request identity. If another device changed the same record, compare your saved edit with the account version and choose explicitly. Newer edits never silently replace the version you reviewed.
Use Export device backup in Sync & recovery to download this account’s saved edits, last verified wellness copy and older account-owned wellness records, including unreadable originals. This private JSON file preserves the wellness queue; it is not a legacy import file, full cloud backup or workout backup. The legacy-recovery screen separately exports an importable source file and a raw training preservation backup.
Legacy wellness imports require a fresh account copy and use durable retry identities. Training settings, saved routines and unfinished workouts recover into device storage for the signed-in account. Related training values commit together, and retries preserve later removals. Routines must match the destination’s weight units; values are never silently converted. Invalid sources remain available for backup and are not imported.
Initial sign-in and account verification require a connection. Keep this browser’s storage while changes are waiting; clearing site data can remove device-only records. These recovery controls currently cover nutrition, weight, daily wellness and goals.
